In Itself: Etienne Zack
15 AprIn Itself, a solo exhibition of works by Emily Carr Alumni Etienne Zack (00) will be on display at the Equinox Gallery at 2321 Granville Street in Vancouver, BC V6H 3G4. The exhibition will run from April 18 – May 16, 2012, with an artist’s reception on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 6pm – 8pm. This event is free and open to the public.
Vision Machine: Marianne Nicolson and Etienne Zack
11 AprThe Vision Machine exhibition at the Surrey Art Gallery is comprised of work by Emily Carr Alumni Marianne Nicolson (96) and Etienne Zack (00). The show will run from April 7 – June 10, 2012, with an opening reception on April 14, 2012 from 7:30-9:30pm. There is also a conversation with Marianne Nicolson and Etienne Zack on April 14, 2012 from 6:30-7:30pm.
Unreal at the Vancouver Art Gallery
29 JanEmily Carr University of Art + Design alumni, faculty and an honorary doctorate recipient, are included in the Vancouver Art Gallery exhibit, Unreal.
Drawn primarily from the Vancouver Art Gallery’s permanent collection with a few select loans, Unreal presents work by artists who explore beyond the realm of what is considered real. Using inventive processes and unusual materials, they aim to unhinge us from our typical views of the world and open our eyes to the marvelous, the fantastical, the weird and even the monstrous.
Featured Alumni include Roy Arden (82), Geoffrey Farmer (92), Graham Gillmore (85), Angela Grossmann (85), Glenn Lewis (58), Attila Richard Lukacs (85), Vicky Marshall (79), Jason McLean (97), Marianna Schmidt (65), Irene Whittome (63), Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun (83), Etienne Zack (00), and Elizabeth Zvonar (01).
Featured Faculty (retired) include Carole Itter, Gary Lee-Nova, Jock Macdonald, David Mayrs, Eric Metcalf, Jerry Pethick, Ed Pien, and Jack Shadbolt.
Honorary Doctorate Recipient is Al Neil (08).
